I’m off to Raleigh for a wedding this weekend! Weddings are one of the most common traditions among all groups of people but we have all added our own twists over time. From the classic white dress to rain, every symbol has some type of meaning. Here are a look at some superstations and traditions associated with the big day!
What are some wedding traditions and superstitions that are important to you?
Today’s Pickins:
1. Sorority Ever After is a genuine, honest resource for all things Pan!
2. If you send Haute Threads an old Tee, she will make you a gameday dress!
3. Using decorative jars to both display and store your nail polish. Glam décor, anyone?
4. Monogrammed wine stoppers are a small but special gift for any occasion!
Honestly, I don't know any wedding traditions since I've never actually gone to a wedding... haha. But I am terrified of having my future groom see me in my dress before the wedding day! :P (Is that even an actual superstition?)
ReplyDeleteI hope you're having fun at the wedding dear :)
I just went to a wedding where the bride thought it was bad luck to participate in the rehersal so someone else stood in her spot.. I thought it was a little strange! ahah
ReplyDeleteI feel that the groom seeing hte bride in the dress has to be one of the most common superstitions in our culture! I would also never take him to pick my dress out with me, either!!
ReplyDeleteWhen I was doing research for this post, my mama told me it was bad luck for the bride to walk down the aisle during the rehersal! I would be too nervous that I would mess things up the day of if I did not participate at the rehersal!
Um... how have I never thought of putting nail polish in a jar like that? Genius! Also.. glad to have found your blogspot blog! :)
ReplyDeleteThese are so interesting! I had never heard of how the tiered cakes came to be--so interesting!
