To a man that lived life to the fullest...RIP Opa

Last night ,we received word that my Opa had passed away.

While it was a hard blow for the family with little warning, I am glad he did not have to suffer for long.

My Oma and Opa faced teh Nazi's in occupied Europe in their youth. Eventually, as part of his military duties, my Opa moved to Panama and he and my Oma married via radio so that she could join him. They lived in dozens of countries on five continents, exploring the world and truly living life to the fullest. Growing up, I loved hearing stories and seeing photos of their life adventures. I think one of the coolest things was the first time I met my Oma's "Jewish Sister" who was a young lady that her family took in and pretended was her sister so that the Nazis wouldn't kill her.

So in honor of Opa, I wanted to dedicate today's post to his memory and the reminder to live life to it's fullest, as I know he did.

Rest In Peace, Opa.
